Carey and Cheryl James of Woodville are the proud owners of this fine looking Mack Superliner. The rig is a 1988 model originally owner by Porter Bros. of Hamilton and spent a number of years as a heavy haulage unit. Since then the truck has only done 788,000 kms and has been through the hands of a number of owners. With it's 500hp engine and heavy haulage setup this truck is ready for action, but Carey and Cheryl are not using it as a working truck. They are busy with their own work during the week, so instead the Mack is more like a hobby and is normally only driven in the weekends. The rig has been used for a number of functions including a wedding and was a big crowd favourite at the recent Trucking for Hawkes Bay Child Cancer Truck show.

The alluring bonnet and unmistakeable grille make the Superliner an ideal 'project' to work on and as Carey has had time he has added to his hobby. With its modified bumper, straight pipes and gleaming black paintwork the Superliner is now looking better than ever. He has just finished the rebuilding of the engine, painting the V8 and bulldog graphics and has also added exhaust shields and sleeper skirts. More work has been planned for the near future. A special thanks to Carey and Cheryl.
