Story By Dominic Teahan
Photos by Pete Nikolaison

This impressive looking Scania is owned by Craig and Justine Pepperell of Masterton and operates out of Wellington. Nicknamed 'Predator', the truck features a number of detailed murals from the Predator movie, it can be seen working both day and night.

The truck does a Turangi swap at night pulling a Roadmaster 6 axle B-train. With the truck and trailer marker lights and the aero kit lit up the unit is a dazzling spectacle at night.

During the day it hauls export and import containers either on a skeletal trailer or a Steel Bros side loader around the lower Wellington region. These types of loads provide an opportunity to view the staunch Predator mural on the back of the Scania cab.

The 2004 model Scania is powered by a 580hp 16 litre V8 engine and is fitted with opti cruise transmission, ABS brakes and a retarder for slowing road speed.

Inside the cab eXtras include a TV, DVD player and gaming ports, cabinet with fold out table, full wood grain interior and a trip computer. The paint work and murals were done by Marty of Custom Auto Art. The Stainless steel work was done by Seaview Engineering Ltd. of Wellington.
