Named after a song from Pink Floyd this mean looking Mack Super-Liner is run by Menefy Trucking Ltd of Palmerston North. XT caught up with Bryan, owner of Menefy Trucking, at the Truck Rides for Child Cancer which was recently held in Palmerston North on the 13th of April.
The big Bulldog has a Cummins engine rated at 580hp and eXtra's on the tractor unit include a bumper plate, offset alloys, "RUNKW" personalised plates and air brushed pinstriping. The truck will be hauling mainly fuel, replacing the work of the CL as a relief tanker and can be seen all over the North Island. Bryan is loyal when it comes to the Mack franchise. The small fleet consists mainly of Macks consisting of one other older Super-Liner, an Ultra liner a CL and CH and has recently purchased a Hino which will be replacing a Mack Quantam. Completeing the Menefy line-up is an ex-Uhlenberg cabover Peterbilt.
At the time these photos were taken the truck had just come out of the Paint booth, but with regards to presentation XT had trouble distinguishing between the older trucks in the fleet which were also present.
Thanks to Bryan and Nigel (the driver) for allowing us to feature their new Super-Liner.
